The Department of History seeks to appoint a full-time professor in the combined field of international history and the history of the United States.
You will have demonstrable research interests connecting different, existing thematic areas of expertise in the Department: global and international history; conflict and violence; colonialism; and media and film. You will possess a demonstrable ability to link the international history of the United States in the twentieth century with members of the Department working on the modern history of Europe. You will be expected to work with the Department’s School of Comparative American Studies, Global History and Culture Centre and European History Research Centre.
You will have an established record of publishing monographs with major university presses. You will also possess experience of academic leadership. You will be expected to assist the department in the strategic development of new modules and courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
