The University of Bristol invites applications to a permanent Lectureship (Lecturer B) in Liberal Arts and English Literature. The post-holder will contribute to the teaching and administration of the Liberal Arts programme. Their own discipline will be English Literature, and they will also contribute to the teaching and administration in the Department of English. Candidates will develop or continue to develop to the highest level a programme of research in their area of specialisation within English, which will fall in the area of English or American Gothic fiction of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Research expertise in Gothic fiction by women writers may be an advantage. The panel will be looking for an individual of outstanding intellectual promise, vision and passion, who will contribute fully to the life of the programme and department.
