Assistant Professor – American Studies Wellesley College
Wellesley College seeks to make a tenure-track hire in American Studies with specialization in the comparative study of race, ethnicity, and immigration, preferably at the beginning assistant professor level. We seek candidates with a strong background in Chicano/a and/or Latino/a Studies, ideally with the ability to teach in another sub-field of ethnic studies.
We welcome applicants trained in interdisciplinary programs such as American Studies, Ethnic Studies, Cultural Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies, or in fields such as sociology, anthropology, or history.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory courses in comparative ethnic studies and American Studies, in addition to courses in the candidate’s areas of specialization. Curriculum- and program-building will be important aspects of this position, which begins in fall 2015.
